About
Over the past year, I’ve been exploring my art in a variety of directions-from colourful cubist pieces to expansive, larger-scale abstracts, an emerging style I find myself increasingly drawn to. Regardless of the subject or form, I often return to a quote by art critic Ralph Steadman that deeply resonates with me:
"The paint itself is also an object – it is subject to its own motivation, rules and dynamic which the artist must overcome, ignore or amplify."
This perfectly captures the essence of why, what, and how I paint. Colour and texture lie at the heart of my process. I approach each piece with intense passion and emotional energy that comes from within me, and I hope this is something that connects with those who view my work.
Framing
To me, framing is not an afterthought but an essential extension of the artwork. I frame all of my own pieces using custom profiles that I hand-paint and distress. Many are further enhanced with water gilding in gold or silver—a meticulous, time-consuming technique that can elevate a painting from the ordinary to something truly special and precious.
I live near Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire,
